§ 2-45. Powers and duties.

(a)

In supervising the construction of the project the Committee shall adhere strictly to the educational specifications and requirements prepared and filed by the Board of Education. The Committee in its supervision of the construction shall have all of the powers and duties of the Commissioner of Public Works with respect to the construction of public buildings and public improvements of the Town. Such supervision shall include but not be limited to:

(1)

The selection and employment of an architect;

(2)

Approval of plans and specifications;

(3)

Requests for necessary appropriations and advertising and acceptance of bids.

(b)

No architect shall be selected or employed without the prior approval of the Board of Education. No documents shall be issued for bidding unless and until the final plans and specifications have been submitted to and approved by the Board of Education, and the Board of Education shall submit all applications for State aid.
